At Prince Edward
Island Heritage Designs we are committed to the preservation
of the Island's built heritage. This includes architectural
designs, gardens, furniture, fences, signs, colour schemes as
well as information on costuming and Island traditions.
When combined these features play an important role in the
overall appearance and atmosphere of the Island. Prince Edward
Island Heritage Designs is owned and operated by Carter W.
Jeffery (architectural technologist) and Arnold G. Smith
(historian). The office is located in a
turn-of-the-century, cross-gabled house in Hunter River beside
the old mill pond. We offer a design service for reproduction,
restoration or custom Island style designs that when completed
would appear as though they have always been there. Over
the past two decades we have had the benefit of working with
qualified local builders and suppliers whose craftsmanship
reflects the style of Prince Edward Island's built heritage.
